This was our entertainer / chef at the TJSH (Tokyo Japanese Steak House) down in old town Alexandria this past weekend. These guys are always entertaining.

Stranger in motion...

Strangers certainly have a sixth sense for cameras. You can be pretty much guaranteed that no matter how far away you are, a Stranger will look at you right as you are focusing on them. Ah well, that made this artistic shot quite dynamic, I think. (FYI, this Stranger was lounging in the sun at the Getty Center in Los Angeles.)

Music to my ears...

This Stranger was lost in her own world playing a piano in the ballroom of the historic Filoli house. The fake gold flowers on the piano were an echo of the famous gardens outside.

What happens next...

This shot looks like one of those classic "funniest home video" set-ups, where an innocent Stranger is jogging, gets distracted by something off to the side, and ends up tripping over himself. (No, that didn't happen in this case...or I would have keyed up the laugh track :)

Festifools!

Oh, the magnificent spectacle of a street parade. Festifools is in its second year and takes place on Main Street in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Classes at the University of Michigan create huge puppets and for an hour parade them downtown to music and lots of laughter. It's quite a sight.

I was there with a couple friends— we all dressed up like crazies and paraded down the street with our friend Matt, who is the tiger you can see in the first frame. Talk about strange-rs...

i scream you scream we all scream for...

visited our local ice cream farm. when i tried to take their photo they ran off! when i asked if they were too shy to stay in the shot they agreed that if one of them did the other would. unfortunately this shyness got the better of one of them.
i didn't note their names - so i guess they're still strangers!

Olympic spirit...

I love this Stranger. At today's celebrations of the Olympic torch relay in San Francisco, she was proudly decked out in symbols from all the past Olympics she had visited. She was excitedly telling passers-by about her plans to be in Beijing for the opening ceremonies this summer.

Photographing photographers...

I snapped shots of these camera-bearing Strangers while they were preoccupied with their own photo subjects...the beautiful springtime gardens at the Filoli Center near Woodside, CA.
