Peace among the rocks

This Stranger was enjoying a few moments peace as the sun went down. His viewing spot was from a fine rocky outcropping on the Appalachian Trail, overlooking the Shenandoah Valley.

If You Build It, They Will Come...

Saw these strangers performing some upkeep on a baseball field. It's one of those things were I guess in the back of my mind I knew someone had perform a task like this, but I never really thought about it before.

Attack of the brides...

We spotted no fewer than six brides and their entourages posing for the cameras outside the Legion of Honor museum in western SF. It was almost comical to pick out the brides tucked away in different corners of the courtyard.

kites everywhere

the strangers are called the loose kites . they played a few tracks at the kite festival today, held at the chester racecourse. they were pretty funky so i googled them and added the link to their 'my space' page so you can sample some of their auditory delights. there were some very impressive kites - you can see how distracted a few of these guys were!

Echoes...

I really like how this Stranger's pose echoes the mannequin in the window behind him. This was a total random shot, but sometimes art just happens :)

go jets!

my boys and i went along to watch the cheshire jets play a pre-season friendly yesterday. some very tall strangers indeed. we beat the leicester riders 82-81 in a nailbiting finish. we were 79-81 with 6 seconds on the clock. when that ball hit the target from way out, the stands erupted.
go jets!

Half a Stranger...

There is something fascinating about capturing a Stranger in motion. I caught this one on the streets of Seattle. Of course...one might ask whether half a Stranger is a Stranger at all.

Strong Strangers...

These folks were posing for a group shot when I snuck off a gratuitous freebie shot of their group. They were the winners of the 2007 Dulles Day Plane Pull, where they play tug o' war with a giant real-life 727 airplane. They pulled the plane the distance faster than anybody else, and got a couple of great trophies with airplanes on them! Go figure!

Taking a toll...

This pleasant Stranger greets thousands of other Strangers each day as they cross the Golden Gate Bridge and enter San Francisco...and then she pleasantly extracts $5 from their net worth.

Driving the bus...

This Stranger drives an old school bus that shuttles canoers and kayakers and tubers to and from drop off points along the lazy White River. Although, in this dark, moody photo, he could also have been driving us off to prison.

On a side note...this is one of the classic old buses I remember riding in elementary school. This is one of those bare-bones buses with no false pretenses of safety.

Fab photo...

This Stranger was inspired by the Beatles' LOVE show in Las Vegas. Its always fun to capture folks acting silly in front of another camera...they totally let down their guard.

a moment's peace

if anyone needs a pet quilt then this stranger could do with your custom. this is another photo i took at the town market in keswick, and while the other stalls were quite busy this guy seemed to be having a quiet spell. i don't know whether he was enjoying the moment's peace or wishing he had more custom.
