Who is Elle...
I spotted this woman on her cell phone...lost in conversation. Is her name Elle? Oh I hope so. That would be too fun :) I picture her running around the city scribbling her name everywhere she stands...a bit of performance art?
You say performance art, I say graffiti is a crime. Maybe the owner gave permission for the spray-paint, but I doubt it.
From the NY Times, and I think 6 months in jail and a $25k fine is too light:
"LAST month, the reign of one of the more notorious criminals in recent Queens history ended when a skinny, bespectacled, 28-year-old man appeared at the Queens County Courthouse. His given name was Oliver Siandre, but that name would be unfamiliar to residents of Astoria and Long Island City. Most know him as Kiko, the graffiti tag that Mr. Siandre sprayed onto the side of the St. Demetrios Greek American School, the garage door of the Powhatan Regular Democratic Club, a concrete pillar in Athens Square Park, and countless pay phones, shop gates, cars, homes and trees. Mr. Siandre was charged with five felony counts and sentenced to six months in jail followed by four and a half years of probation, along with a $25,000 fine. "

Neat idea for performance art.... Maybe spray painting while talking on the phone?
