Engrossed
This guy was completely engrossed in whatever he was going on with his phone. I'm not sure if he even knew the rest of us were there. Maybe his phone has games on it and he was playing Sudoku.

it's a fun game...
I was guessing, and I know from personal experience that Sudoku can be addicting.
Or he was typing a text message, which takes forever to accomplish. It is THE means of communication for confrontation avoiders. They will sit and type volumes to you on their phones for hours rather than call you and deliver a message to you in five minutes time. I'll never understand the point.
