A Gray Day
I live in a city with the grand distiction of having the second-highest number of gray days per year, after Seattle. Winters are always long, and waiting for the bus tends to be miserable. At least it's warm once you get on-board.

The girl in pink was one of the few people dressed in bright colors today. Her outfit made me smile.
... I just came across this as I thumbed through a newspaper from wednesday. "Overboard" by Chip Dunham.

Wow. I think that everyone in your town should wear a punch of color in the winter. It would probably reduce depression, alcoholism, crime...and just plain crabbiness. :)
