The kids are alright...

These were taken this summer on the Berkeley campus. The student population is much lighter but there is still a bustle of activity. Check out the Coke shirt -(at least it looks like a Coke shirt to me.)

I didn't alter these shots to show my "off the hip" picture taking technique. Everything comes up with a different angle and composition. :)

Hi. I found my way here from Blogs of Note. This one really is notable. I've bookmarked you and will come back regularly because your photos and blurbs are interesting in a 'stop and smell the roses' way that I have missed. Thank-you for permiting the public to view this.

I agree with Dorian, want to see more of pictures of faraway places, like where Jah comes from (Thailand). Be mindful of the travel cost though, but do you know that just about all airlines provide better service and discounts on their long-haul international routes than they do on short-haul domestic routes?

In our unsecure modern world, where one's self image and privacy is considered something to be harshly defended, is getting more difficult to make photography with people in everyday life situations.
The natural pose slips away in a split second to be replaced by a suspicious look to the person wearing a camera on the street.
How far are the powerfull images of Henry Cartier-Bresson of the city of lights, bursting with life.
Just for that, your blog deserves to be seen.

Hi :o)
I like your photos and you seem to know what you are talking about.
I took some photos recently on a trip away for my blog. Some people have told me they are great pics, but i just think they are pretty plain. How would you like to come on over and tell me what you think about them for a learned point of view?
The post is titled "Back & Stuffed"

Keep up the great work :o)

Hey my brother,

I think ya know I too am a fan of your shots, despite stirring up a philosophical debate a few posts back. I seek your assistance in shedding some LIGHT on a dark situation that grows worse daily and is KEPT from the mainstream media. ARTISTS will be needed to combat this "conspiracy of silence".
Our governments in the FREE world are setting up for a cleansing. Daily, homeless people are being kidnapped under the pretense of B.S. charges and then Disappear.
Violations to the Geneva Convention are exercised upon those unable to defend themselves, which constitute an ACT of WAR, as it states that an official declaration need not be made for the rules of the Geneva Convention to apply.
BY THEIR ACTIONS, they have made themselves guilty of these crimes.
By our LACK OF ACTION upon discovery of this, we become co-conspiritors.

Yup Jah's right. It could be Thai. Yet when I lived in Indochina I recall coke was developing its own local branding for Cambodia. Looks amazingly similar. Thai and Khmer look almost the same but I don't read either as have stopped with Burmese. Brain overload.

And note below the script it does say Coca-Cola.

You photo guys here should check out the "Qatsi Trilogy" by Godfrey Reggio & Philip Glass. Must be a great inspiration for your blog team. And even further in this connection I can highly recommend Vertov's "Man with a movie camera" which actually inspired Reggio again to create Koyaanisqatsi. :)

What an interesting blog. Your pictures are great, and take that as a compliment from a former advertising photographer of 30+ years. Keep up the great work, and continue to recognize the non-famous.
